Spotlight: Storm-Related Unemployment Claims Due Today

Today is the deadline for individuals whose work or self-employment was affected by this winter’s floods or mudslides to file disaster unemployment claims with the state. The compensation applies to those who were unable to file regular unemployment claims, were unable to reach work or were physically prevented from working because of storms. The offer is valid only to those living in the counties designated as federal disaster areas, which include Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura.
