Sunny Easter in the Wind

Lilies, sunflowers and wild hyacinth that soaked up winter rains and bloomed this week to create a patchwork of colors carpeting the county’s parks will bask in sunshine Easter Sunday, weather forecasters said.

There is a 70% chance of rain through late afternoon today in Ventura County, said meteorologist Gary Ryan of the National Weather Service in Oxnard. If the storm hits with full force, an inch of rain could fall, he said.

The chance of rainfall will drop to 40% in the evening, Ryan said. High temperatures throughout the county will be in the upper 50s, with lows in the mid-40s, Ryan said.

“The good news is it should be pretty clear for Easter morning sunrise services,” Ryan said. “It will be breezy, so people who are going out in the morning should dress warmly.”

There is a 10% chance of continued showers on Sunday, with winds gusting to 25 mph, Ryan said. Highs will be in the low 60s, with lows in the 40s.
