LOOSE LIPS

Your article on Frank Langella was a great example of why some actors should not give candid interviews (“At 60, He’s Still Burning Bright,” by Jan Breslauer, April 5).

Langella states there’s nothing wrong with a man walking up to a woman, telling her she’s attractive, then fondling her until she pushes him away. He further wonders why women don’t consider such an action “a compliment and not an offensive thing.” Assuming this wasn’t a delayed April Fools’ gag, I have no recourse but to “educate” Langella in the best way I know how: by boycotting every stage, film or TV production he appears in until he recognizes the inappropriateness of his remarks.

P.S. to Whoopi Goldberg: You’d better make sure you’re legally insulated from this loser in case his grabby hands get him in trouble with some woman who doesn’t know how to take a compliment!
