Re “Parks Dispute Is About Who Gets the Green,” March 25.

Your article states, “Councilman Mike Hernandez, who wrote the measure [Proposition K], said he is concerned that wealthier areas such as the San Fernando Valley will seize the advantage at the expense of the east and central city.” Since when are Mandeville and Sullivan canyons “near the Getty Center” considered part of the Valley? They are Westside. Councilman [Richard] Alatorre and Hernandez as well as The Times staff writer need to consult City Council district maps to see how distant these properties are! That district (No. 11, Cindy Miscikowski) would be the recipient of at least $11,000,000 in Prop. K funds.
