ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Steven Myers & Associates: The Newport Beach consulting company said its first-quarter profit rose 54% to $1.7 million, or 12 cents a share, on the strength of a healthy demand for its contract proposal preparation services. The company earned $1.1 million in the first quarter last year. No per-share figures were available. Quarterly revenue rose 48% to $10.7 million from $7.2 million a year earlier.
