Group to Discuss Redevelopment
Hoping to spur revitalization on their end of town, members of the South Oxnard Business Assn. will meet today in an effort to develop ways to encourage economic development.
The business group, formed earlier this year, hopes to revive south Oxnard’s struggling business community by getting organized and lobbying city officials for help. Today’s meeting--to be attended by several City Council members and community leaders--will focus on the city’s new redevelopment district and its impact on the local business community.
“We want people to know what we’re doing on the south end, so the people have a voice,” said Morey Navarro, president of the business group. Today’s meeting will start at 6 p.m. at Yolanda’s Restaurant, at Saviers Road and Channel Islands Boulevard.
There is an $8 charge for a buffet dinner, but no cost to take part in the meeting. For information, call Navarro at 487-1618.
