AIDS Benefit Will Honor Three ‘Carols’

The American Foundation for AIDS research will honor actors Carol Burnett and Carol Channing, as well as songwriter Carole Bayer Sager at “AmFAR Salutes the Carols,” a benefit for the organization being held Wednesday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Each woman will be honored for her “extraordinary career and lifelong commitment to the fight against AIDS.”

The event, which includes a cocktail reception and seated dinner, is scheduled to feature performances by Lily Tomlin, Angela Lansbury, Chita Rivera and Bea Arthur.

Additional scheduled performers include Christopher Cross, Davis Gaines, Tim Conway, Sam Harris, Melissa Manchester and Elaine Stritch.

Tickets are $300 and $500.
