School Funds

Re your April 21 editorial, “Don’t Drain Public Schools”: All school districts in the state of California receive the same dollar amount for every student day. Why, then, if you go to the Glendale Unified School District, are its schools clean and well maintained? Other school districts are an embarrassment, some in receivership and bankrupt. You would not send your children to these schools.

A small tax cut helping parents move their children to better schools is not the problem. Incompetent management in our nation’s schools, that is the problem. We should applaud members of Congress for their courage.
