City to Use Speed Detection Trailer in Problem Areas

The city has purchased a speed detection trailer to show drivers how fast they are traveling in areas where speeding has been a problem.

The $15,000 trailer is being set up outside schools and on main streets this month and will flash driving speeds as motorists pass by. The device also will be used in areas where traffic collisions have occurred.

If speeding continues to be a problem, police officers plan to start giving traffic tickets in the problem areas.
