Spotlight: Head of Table Grape Commission Will Retire

Share

Bruce Obbink, longtime president of the California Table Grape Commission, will retire in January. He will be succeeded by Kathleen Nave, the board’s executive vice president. Obbink took over the commission when it was founded 30 years ago and led table grape growers through years of controversy with the United Farm Workers union, among other potent agricultural issues. Nave has been on the commission for 11 years, and was given responsibility for its $14-million budget two years ago.
