Re “Charter Schools Ruled Exempt From Prop.227,” July 28.

After reading your article on 154 experimental charter schools being exempt from the provisions of Proposition 227, I ask myself, what is the point of going out to vote, which I’m sure a lot of our citizens have asked themselves.

If these schools are being paid by the taxpayers, why are they setting themselves above Proposition 227? It is not right and it means the beginning of a lot more charter schools over the next few years to get around 227 and give us all the finger.
