Gathering the Troops and Heading Out

In these transitional times, it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t saddle up and do some intensive clubbing for you all--first-hand knowledge is the best-hand knowledge, I always say. So we corralled a few pals and spent Friday night hitting up some new joints on the Sunset Strip (see Club Hoppin’), and my, my, my, there’s a lot happening out there. . . .

First, there’s Miyagi’s, the brand-new sushi restaurant located at the old Roxbury, which by the way, used to be the Imperial Gardens--a Japanese restaurant, no less. We enjoyed Miyagi’s very much, the service was more than adequate, the sushi adequately tasty and the ambience bright and happy.

After a belly full of sushi, we migrated over to the Key Club, to Club Rubber and found an eclectic mix of people commingling on the dance floor, and host John Huntington dressed up as a ‘90s version of Hugh Hefner, with a white-lapel robe finishing off his playboy attire. . . .I had a hankering to hit up North, the brand-new bar opened by the owners of the bullet-proof popular Three Clubs. Don’t believe the hype: North totally rules.
