Recycling Bins

Share

Is anyone else as intrigued as I am by the statement that the 90-gallon blue recycling bin was selected after “studies”? Whose studies?

To me this is a perfect example of “from the sublime to the ridiculous”--first, an unhygienic open tray, fragile at that and too small if you include a week’s worth of The Times; then an unwieldy monster, heavy even when empty.

I have been doing my own study and find that on my street no one fills more than a quarter of the volume, at most. If, in fact, the majority can make full use of 90 gallons a week, God help this old world!
