CHILDREN’S SERVICES: A Tot Shabbat with a preschool service, dancing, crafts and songs will be held for children 1 through 5 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Temple Beth Torah, 16651 Rinaldi St., Granada Hills. Information: (818) 831-0835.

SUMMER EVENTS: Beth Knesset Bamidbar synagogue will host its popular Rabbi’s Table service at 6:30 p.m. Friday. CELEBRATIONS: The Valley Hindu Temple will celebrate the birth of Lord Sri Krishna and India’s Independence Day with a cultural program open to everyone. Actors will represent Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Bapu Monhandas Gandhi from 7 p.m. to midnight today. Continuing the celebration, a children’s program will be presented from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday. NEW KINDERGARTEN: Temple Kol Tikvah will expand its children’s educational program by opening a kindergarten in September. TEMPLE TOUR: Conservative synagogue Temple Ramat Zion will host an open house for the community from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 30.
