Update--Twenty-eight down, two to go for the Sparks, who will end their disappointing season Wednesday at Houston. They have won two in a row for new Coach Orlando Woolridge, after losing three consecutive road games. Detroit, too, finishes in the doldrums. The Shock was knocked out of playoff contention by an 84-59 loss at Phoenix on Friday night. Point guard Korie Hlede, a rookie-of-the-year candidate, blew out her knee last week. Former ABL player Cindy Brown, who has 22 more rebounds in two more games, recently took the WNBA lead away from the Sparks’ Lisa Leslie. Both average 10.1 a game.
