Strap on your lederhosen and grab a bratwurst--Oktoberfest is back.

The Newbury Park Rotary Club’s 12th annual celebration of German food, drink and dance begins 10 a.m. Sept 13.

The daylong event offers activities for families and children.

Folks can browse the arts and crafts booths, snack on sauerkraut and boogie down to oompah music.

Children can get their faces painted and joke with clowns and jugglers.

According to Oktoberfest chairwoman Linda Norberg, festivalgoers usually consume 850 pounds of bratwurst, 650 pounds of German potato salad and 2,000 helpings of strudel at the event.
