Share

The volunteer group 100 Black Men of Orange County is holding a fund-raiser Saturday for its high-school mentoring program.

Under the Passport to the Future program, the organization works with local high school districts to support minority students in areas including self-awareness, cultural history, relationships, leadership and social responsibility. Young men who complete the four-year program are given $1,000 scholarships for college or vocational training.

The group, which has more than 75 chapters and 10,000 volunteers nationwide, opened its Orange County chapter in 1993.
