Lake Forest-based InterWorks Computer Products said it has acquired a San Diego supplier of memory systems for a combination of cash, stock and assumption of liabilities “in the million-dollar ballpark.”

InterWorks, which manufactures custom and standard memory systems, acquired Dynamem Corp. for both its patented memory technology and customer base. Dynamem’s eight employees in San Diego and New Hampshire will join InterWorks’ 30-member work force.

InterWorks president and chief executive Carl Steffens said he expects the acquisition to contribute to earnings in the first quarter of 1999 and that the company will continue to pursue a strategy of growing internally and through acquisitions.
