Chatsworth’s Westamp Is Sold to ORMEC Systems

Westamp Inc., a Chatsworth manufacturer of motion control products since 1958, has been purchased by ORMEC Systems Corp., a manufacturer of industrial PC-based automation and servo motion control products, with headquarters in Rochester, N.Y.

As the new UltraDrive division of ORMEC Systems Corp., the Chatsworth company will develop, market and manufacture servo drives, devices used extensively in automation that drive motors in highly precise ways. Future product emphasis at UltraDrive will focus on digital signal processor--based digital drives, which offer real time applications of control in a wide range of sizes and formats.
