* Re “Boeing Raises Layoff Target to 53,000,” Dec. 2:

Boeing and Exxon-Mobil (Business, Dec. 2) plan to lay off 62,000. So, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all the other season’s greetings. Just another example of how our economic system cares nothing for human beings. Why do we tolerate this stupidity? Because our greedy lords and masters have brainwashed us into believing that it is righteous and God’s will. Will we ever wake up? Probably when conditions get bad enough for enough people.
