Throwing the trial into turmoil, the witness whose allegations form the bulk of sexual misconduct charges against jailed Malaysian politician Anwar Ibrahim denied that he was ever sodomized by the former deputy prime minister. Azizan abu Bakar testified last week that when he was employed as a driver by Anwar’s wife, Anwar repeatedly forced him to have sex. But when the trial resumed after a weekend recess, Azizan denied the charges under cross-examination.
