Kimberly-Clark to Reorganize by Product Line

Bloomberg News

Kimberly-Clark Corp., the world’s biggest tissue-products company, said that it will reorganize along product lines, rather than geographic regions, to boost sales and speed the introduction of products worldwide. Senior executives will have global responsibility for its three businesses: tissues, which include Kleenex and Scott towels; personal-care products such as Huggies diapers; and health-care and nonwoven goods such as surgical face masks. Kimberly-Clark, which gets more than one-third of its revenue outside the U.S., wants to jump-start sales hurt by recessions in Asia and difficulties in its European business. The Dallas-based company said it doesn’t plan additional job cuts as part of the restructuring or any charge to earnings. Kimberly-Clark shares fell 44 cents to close at $51.62 on the New York Stock Exchange.
