Your editorial is right on!

“Hunger Takes No Holiday” (Dec. 6) is the truth, and all the hungry are not necessarily homeless.

Welfare reforms and employment cutbacks are resulting in an increasing number who have the choice of becoming homeless or having a roof over their heads and an empty stomach.

A growing number of children are living in poverty; this is a danger signal. Hungry children do not learn and will end up in trouble.
