The city will provide $600,000 to help a Los Angeles power tool company consolidate its operations in La Palma, a proposal expected to bring in $1.6 million in sales tax revenue in the next 10 years.

Slater Industries wants to combine four warehousing and distribution sites now in Los Angeles County into the building at 6842 Walker St., being vacated by Cooper Lighting after 25 years. Slater says it needs to make about $700,000 in renovations, so the city negotiated the deal to keep the building occupied and generating revenue.

The funds will be paid out to the company from the additional sales tax revenue generated and will not have to be paid back.
