Four Inmates Injured in Brawl at County Jail
Fights at Los Angeles County’s Men’s Central Jail left four inmates hospitalized Thursday night, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
About 25 black and Latino inmates clashed about 5 p.m. and fought for roughly five minutes, said Deputy Bob Killeen.
Three men who suffered stab wounds were taken to the jail ward at County-USC Medical Center, he said. A fourth inmate with lesser injuries was treated at a clinic in the downtown jail, Killeen said.
About 6:20 p.m., another brawl started in a dining hall, Kileen said. One inmate smashed some furniture and attacked several other people, he said.
One inmate suffered serious cuts on a hand, and two others suffered lesser injuries, Killeen said.
