Research Engineers Inc.: The Yorba Linda provider of engineering software solutions incurred a net loss of $126,000, or 2 cents a share, for the third fiscal quarter, which included a charge of $450,000 for writing off acquired research and development. For the like period a year earlier, the company recorded a net loss of $508,000, or 9 cents a share, which included a charge of $715,000. Revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 increased 22% to $3.3 million from $2.7 million. Net income of $3,000 was recorded for the nine-month period, compared with a net loss of $80,000, or 2 cents a share, for the year-earlier period. Revenue gained 26% to $9.2 million from $7.3 million.
