FileNet Corp.: The Costa Mesa provider of document imaging products said net income climbed 84% for the fourth quarter to $5.9 million, or 36 cents a share, from $3.2 million, or 20 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 5% to $76.4 million from $72.6 million. For the year, the company posted a loss of $5.5 million, or 36 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $2.6 million, or 18 cents a share, for 1996. The 1997 results included charges of $16 million for merger, restructuring and acquired research and development costs. Revenue declined 6.5% to $251.4 million from $268.9 million.
