‘Smart Heart’ Class Visits Supermarket

In honor of National Heart Month, Daniel Freeman Hospitals on Tuesday kicked off a program designed to educate the community on the importance of maintaining a healthy heart with a supermarket shopping trip that informed participants about healthful foods.

About 20 people attended the “Smart at Heart” event at Vons in Inglewood, where a dietitian and two fitness instructors told the participants to watch out for saturated fat, decrease sodium intake and increase consumption of fiber. Information: (800) 356-2824.
