Board to Get Wall Report, Discuss Memorial in Park

The Rossmoor Community Services District plans to deal with two popular issues tonight, checking up on repair plans for the Rossmoor wall and honoring a late community leader.

A progress report on voter-approved plans for the red-brick, signature wall will go before district directors. Work on damaged areas and to make the wall earthquake safe should begin sometime this spring, said James S. Mocalis, Rossmoor director.

Directors also will consider installing a bench in the garden of Rush Park in honor of Gus Brickman, a former services district president. The bench would be flanked by roses and other plants.

Brickman, who died nearly two years ago at 79, served as president of the services district from 1991-92 and was a board director before that. He also was active in the Rossmoor Homeowners Assn.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Community Services District building, 3232 Hedwig Road.
