Precious Life Shelter Fund-Raiser Planned

A March 7 fund-raiser will benefit Precious Life Shelter, which serves pregnant women and newborns.

Precious Life is accepting reservations for the fifth annual Affair of the Heart event, including a silent auction, dinner, dancing and live music.

Proceeds will help Precious Life provide women with housing, food, clothing and other immediate necessities. The shelter serves only women who are drug-free and requires them to get jobs or go to school while they live at the Reagan Street center.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel, 111 E. Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach. Tickets are $40; $75 for couples and $350 for a table of 10.
