City Manager to Retire After 5 Years in Job

Share

After nearly five years on the job, City Manager Jim Morrison announced this week he will retire in six months.

Morrison, 58, said he plans to do consulting work after 38 years in public service. When he arrived as El Segundo’s city manager in April 1993, the city was facing tough economic times because the aerospace industry, which has several facilities in the area, was downsizing. Morrison had to quickly come up with a lean budget, and he did.

Morrison said he will stay on the job until the end of June to give El Segundo time to seek a new city manager.
