Two weeks of festivities in memory of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. began Friday at Bradley Court of the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza mall.

Under the theme “We Still Have a Dream,” King Week ’98 will run through Jan. 25 and feature benefit dinners, religious services and award ceremonies in remembrance of the slain civil rights leader.

“It has been that theme every year,” said Genethia Hudley Hayes, executive director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, which sponsors the festival. “We can’t lose this dream.”
