Latino Business Group Will Honor Founders

Share

The Latino Business Council on Wednesday will honor founding members Maria Elena Avila and Ivan Calderon.

“It’s for their contributions to the [business council] and to thank them,” said Manfredo Lespier, president of the council.

Avila and Calderon started the organization about three years ago to give a greater voice to the Latino community, primarily on the city’s west side. Originally named the Latino Leadership Council, it merged with the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce and adjusted its scope to business-related issues citywide.
