Re “Asian Financial Woes Felt at U.S. Colleges,” Jan. 14: I had no idea that things had gotten so bad that these 18- to 22-year-olds have been forced to sell off such necessities as their BMWs and their designer clothes just to be able to pay tuition. What a tragedy!

The only thing more upsetting than their dilemma is watching USC have to scramble around to find someone else to stick for the entire $30,000 a year. You see, too many Americans get tuition breaks. Is there no justice in the world?
