Prism to Buy Customer Focus International

Prism Solutions Inc. of Sunnyvale said Tuesday it agreed to buy Orange-based Customer Focus International Inc., a provider of customer relationship management solutions for the financial services industry, for about 2.8 million shares of stock.

The deal would be worth about $13.3 million, based on the value of Prism’s stock. Shares rose 13 cents Tuesday, closing at $4.75.

Prism said it expects to complete the acquisition later this month.

Customer Focus, which had revenues of about $4.4 million last year, will become a unit of Prism, offering software products and consulting services that deliver data warehousing solutions for the financial services industry.

Customer Focus said its president and chief executive, Thuan Phan, will head the new unit while remaining president of Customer Focus. Phan will also become a member of Prism’s board.
