Cable Rates

Re “The High Costs of Cable,” editorial, Jan. 15: You were talking about regulating television for goodness sake, not a basic necessity of life. Why not let cable rates go up at 10 times the rate of inflation and let customers decide to discontinue their service or drop premium channels. Life without premium channels may not be that much of a disaster. Life without television may be an improvement.
