United Airlines opened reservations last week for daily nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Lihue, Kauai, set to begin June 10. The airline, which had discontinued the service after Hurricane Iniki hit the Hawaiian island in 1993, said it is the only regularly scheduled airline to offer the nonstop flights. . . . Divers have until Friday to register for the 18th annual Avalon Harbor Underwater Cleanup on Feb. 21, the only day that scuba diving is allowed in Avalon Bay off Catalina Island. The cost is $25 to help clean up the harbor.
