ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

CardioVascular Dynamics Inc.: The Irvine medical products company reported a net loss for the fourth quarter of $5.5 million, or 59 cents a share, which included charges for reserves and allowances of $2 million. That compares with a loss of $2.8 million, or 29 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue declined 4% to $2.4 million from $2.5 million.

For the year, the company lost $8.8 million, or 95 cents a share, compared with a loss of $4.6 million, or 65 cents a share, for 1996. Revenue grew 30% to $11.3 million from $8.7 million.
