HIV/AIDS Residence Given $35,000 Grant
A recent $35,000 grant will purchase a year’s worth of food for the residents of Christopher’s Place in Ventura, a group home for people living with HIV/AIDS.
The grant was made by MAC Cosmetics in June to the Serra Project, established by seven Los Angeles County hospitals in 1987 to respond to the growing number of people left destitute by their battle with AIDS.
Based in Toronto, MAC Cosmetics markets Viva Glam lipsticks with the mandate that all revenue for the product’s retail sales be donated to local organizations working to improve the quality of life for people with HIV/AIDS.
