Monopoly’s Not a Synonym for Loyalty

Share

I am not sure just who those experts are that Jube Shiver Jr. writes about in “Hidden Asset for AT&T; if It Buys TCI: Loyalty” [Telecom Talk, July 6], but please, we are not loyal customers of TCI. Have not those business experts ever heard of the word monopoly? We are prisoners of one cable company, and that goes for each and every person who has cable in the U.S. We have no choice in picking a company as we do a long- distance company.

I have what is called basic service (bare-bones), and if I could I would put a dish on my roof and dump TCI today. Let the government allow other cable companies to enter the marketplace and watch people start changing to the one that offers the most for the least.
