Ingram Micro Inc. said it plans to build a 600,000-square-foot distribution center in Lickdale, Pa., to serve the Northeast region.

The Santa Ana distributor of computer products said it expects to begin building the complex, which can be expanded to more than 1 million square feet, on Oct. 1. The plant is expected to be completed by late 1999.

Ingram plans to relocate an existing 230,000-square-foot facility in Harrisburg, Pa., to the new center.
