Elemental Style

If sleek, clean design is your office style, Kappler can take care of you. Using combinations of wood and metal with straight lines and curves, Kappler’s desks and office cabinets have a decidedly modern look.

Kappler, known throughout Europe for its work space designs, is now bringing them to the United States.

Each piece can be configured for individual needs or wants, including changing the legs from stainless steel to wood. The desktop is maple, and the size can vary to suit the room.

The desks ($6,500 and up) also have a flat, curved cable box to conceal wires and cords.

Kappler furnishings are available in Los Angeles at its showroom in the Pacific Design Center in Space 288. Call Peter Wessel at (949) 660-9441 for an appointment.

Simply Red

Summer is filled with strawberries, red-checked tablecloths and cotton bandannas. And, of course, there’s red to go along with the white and blue of Old Glory.

In celebration of red as a summer color, Village wallcoverings has come out with an Old Glory border and Classic Country Ticking wallpaper. The flag border could enhance a family room, home office or hall, not to mention a summer vacation getaway.

Circus Circus

Every kid loves the circus, so imagine how yours will react to a room decked out like a big top.

Bright colors and friendly animals are the main themes of Target’s Circus Spirit line. The table and chair set (about $80) features an elephant and other friends dancing about the tabletop.

For the active set, consider the elephant rocker (about $50), just waiting to take your child around the tent. For more ambience and atmosphere, add the wall hooks (about $25) and coat tree (about $30).

The Circus Spirit collection is also available at Target stores throughout the county.
