Boy’s Lawyer Hints Insanity in Rampage
An attorney for a schoolboy accused of stabbing his mother to death and then gunning down two classmates suggested the youth might have been insane during the killings in October. “Is there anybody who thinks before you can be insane, you have to be a babbling idiot?” Leslie Rouselle, the attorney for 17-year-old Luke Woodham, asked as jury selection got underway in the town of Philadelphia. Woodham is being tried in the hacking death Oct. 1 of his mother. He is to stand trial separately in the shooting rampage at Pearl High School in which two students were killed and seven were wounded.
