Ex-PepsiCo CEO Joins BuyComp Board

Donald M. Kendall, who transformed PepsiCo Inc. into a major provider of beverages, snacks and fast foods, has been named a director of Irvine-based BuyComp LLC, a 2-year-old retailer of computer products on the Internet.
Kendall, who served as chairman and chief executive of PepsiCo. for more than two decades before retiring in 1986, is one of four current or former executives of major companies who have been named to BuyComp’s board this year.
The others are Charles Richion, former director of U.S. sales at Hewlett-Packard Co., James B. Roszak, former president of Transamerica Life Cos., and Wayne Thorson, founder of a major Midwest construction firm and head of Thorson Oil Inc. BuyComp founder and president Scott Blum also is on the board.
