City Agrees to Replace Park Pedestrian Bridge
- Share via
A storm-damaged pedestrian bridge at Vaqueros Park will be replaced for about $37,000 under a plan recently approved by the City Council.
The new bridge will provide access to the park and adjacent Van Buren Elementary School.
The City Council will buy the bridge from Excel Bridge Manufacturing Co. of Santa Fe Springs for $8,552. Wakeham-Baker Inc. in Anaheim received a $28,194-contract to erect the 20-foot-long pedestrian crossing. The contractor also will install sidewalks to connect to the school.
The city is using state parks and recreation grants, federal money and local funds to pay for the work.
The bridge is expected to be completed by early September.
