Heavy on Harry?

“The Simpsons” casting director Bonnie Pietila should have her title changed to Celebrity Casting Director, since that’s the only casting that seems to go on for that show (“Cow-a-Bono, Dude,” by Janet Kinosian, So SoCal, April 26).

As someone who has followed “The Simpsons” faithfully, I’ve noticed that, aside from the family’s voices, Harry Shearer has been doing more and more of the peripheral characters until just about all of them sound alike (except for the few done by Phil Hartman). Maybe next season, the producers will go that final step and have Shearer do all the voices, saving both time and money in the voice-over recording process.

Shearer is a very clever and funny man, but enough already.
