Meth Kids

* To put it mildly, your May 29 Column One article on meth kids shook me up. Have your readers witnessed the rage and violence brought on by long-term methamphetamine usage? Anger takes on another dimension. However, to discover that 10% of Iowa’s newborns are meth-addicted and must undergo months and years of unbearable pain to recover--now that is another dimension entirely.

Since Southern California has nearly a decade’s head start with methamphetamine usage, I shudder to think what our numbers are!

Will someone tell me, please, why the president and Congress are hiding from the drug curse, and spending so much unnecessary time with the tobacco issue?
