L.A. Company Buys American Electronics

American Electronics Inc., a Fullerton manufacturer of high-precision motors and other products, has been acquired by Ducommun Inc., the Los Angeles company said Wednesday. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Ducommun said American Electronics had sales of about $7.1 million in 1997. About 60% of the firm’s sales were to space markets. For the year ended Dec. 31, 1997, Ducommun reported earnings of $14.3 million, or $1.81 a share, on sales of $157.3 million.
Ducommun manufactures components and assemblies for the aerospace and wireless telecommunications industries.
