Red Cross to Offer Fingerprint Service

Share

On July 1, the Ventura County chapter of the American Red Cross will begin offering fingerprinting services for health care providers and other professionals who are required to be fingerprinted prior to licensing or certification.

The service will be available for nurse assistants, home health aides, other health care professionals, child care providers and school employees.

The Red Cross recommends fingerprinting be completed at least 12 weeks prior to applying for licensing or certification to ensure adequate time for processing. A fee of $8 will be charged per fingerprint card.

The Ventura County chapter is among 13 Red Cross chapters statewide offering this service, which was developed in cooperation with the state Department of Health Services and leaders of the long-term health care industry to meet new regulations that require fingerprinting for nurse assistants and home health aides.
