Test Finds Montand Not Woman’s Father

A controversial paternity test on the corpse of singer-actor Yves Montand proves that he did not father a young woman who claimed for years to be his love child, judicial sources said. Throughout his life, Montand had denied that Aurore Drossart, 22, was his daughter, but he refused to undergo DNA tests to put the matter to rest. He died in 1991 at the age of 70. After years of trying, Drossart and her mother, Anne, won a court-ordered exhumation of Montand’s corpse from Paris’ Pere-Lachaise cemetery. The DNA tests were negative, according to the judicial sources. Catherine Allegret, Montand’s adopted daughter, said the results mean that her family can finally “get out of this nightmare.”
